Switcheroo

Capture your opponents chips.  Win by having the most chips at the end of the game.

Play with a friend or choose one of five levels of computer opponents.

.

The game starts with an 8 by 8 game-board.  two chips of each color are placed in the center.  Each player then places one chip on the board in such a way as to capture the opponent's chips.  You do this by placing a chip so that you have your color on either side of the opponent's chip(s).  When you do this, you turn the opponent's chip over to your color.

This continues until all game-board spaces are occupied or until no more moves are possible.  The winner is the one with the most chips of their color showing

If it is your turn and you are unable to capture any of your opponent's chips, you must pass your turn.

There is a tutor that will show you where you can move.

You can play with a friend, or choose one of these computer opponents.

  • Random - makes a move with no particular logic.

  • Greedy - will always take the move that captures the most chips.

  • Weighted - will capture the most chips but uses strategic logic for more or less favorable game-board places.

  • Two-stage greedy - takes the most chips but also factors in how many it could lose in the next move.

  • Two-stage weighted - same as weighted, but considers the opponent's potential moves also.

The game keeps score automatically and shows the color of whose turn it is.
