Psalms 17:6 - 7 (HCSB)
6 I
call on You, God,
because You will answer me;
listen closely to me; hear what I say.
7 Display the
wonders of Your faithful love,
Savior of all who seek refuge
from those who rebel against Your right hand.

In his book, “The Case for Faith”, Lee Strobel examines some of the major “objections” to faith in Christ. One of the most popular objections is the misinformed notion that evolution trumps the creation story of the Bible. However, in the book, Lee talks with a noted Christian theologian and scientist on the subject. The facts clearly point to intelligent design.
At one time, it was thought that the single-cell organisms were just a collection of chemicals that, under the right circumstances, formed into a living cell. But what we know now is that the single cell contains DNA, that is, information. And information implies intelligent origin – a creator. To compound matters, no scientist has ever been able to give any viable answer to how life *began*.
I was watching TV the other night and some host of a futuristic TV science program rambled on about evolution and our next evolutionary stage, yet, he and his colleagues fall ignorant when trying to explain the origin of life. Furthermore, scientists have no idea what happened before the big-bang. In fact, the Hadron collider in Switzerland is hoped to give scientists a glimpse of what happened at or before the big-bang. The collider is expected to be able to slam protons head on at > 99% the speed of light.
It occurs to me, though that these people have made the conscious decision *not* to believe in God and thus set out to disprove God’s word. They latch on to any theory or intellectual excuse to raise as their *objections* to faith to cover up for the rebellious nature of their hearts. Yet in their fervor to disprove God’s handiwork in creation, they only succeed on showing that God’s word is reliable. Nevertheless, they rebel.
There are two groups of people on this earth, those who submit to the will and grace of God, and those who rebel. Nothing else matters in the final analysis. If you call on God, He will answer. He hears every word you pray and knows every pain, sorrow, and joy in your life. He displays the wonders of His love through nature and through the blessings we take for granted.
And finally, he gives us refuge from the onslaught of rebels who shout: “There is no god!”
If you have doubts that prevent you from faith in God, may I recommend Lee Strobel’s book, “The Case for Faith” as he discusses 8 of the major objections to faith and discusses them with theological, philosophical, and scientific leaders to arrive at a clear picture of God’s faithfulness and worthiness as our object of devotion.
