Exodus 34:6 - 7 (HCSB) 6Then the LORD passed in front of him and proclaimed:
Yahweh—Yahweh is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth, 7maintaining faithful love to a thousand [generations], forgiving wrongdoing, rebellion, and sin. But He will not leave [the guilty] unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ wrongdoing on the children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation.

McDonald’s recently contributed $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and (in essence) purchased a seat on its board of directors. When confronted by the American Family Alliance, McDonald’s responded suggesting that those who oppose same-sex marriage are motivated by hate.
Many people today want to talk about the love of God but refuse to accept the flip-side of that coin.
Moses returned to Mount Sinai after coming down with the Ten Commandments. He saw the people reveling around a golden calf. Moses destroyed the golden calf and God announced He would not go any further with the people because of their sin.
Moses pleaded on behalf of the people and God agreed to remain with them. In Moses’ plea, he asked to see the glory of God. God answered that He would proclaim his name to Moses and allow Moses to see Him from behind. The passage above is the declaration that God makes about His name.
He is indeed a God of love, full of compassion, but He also holds us accountable for our sins.
The issue of same-sex marriages is not an issue of hate, but rather an issue of accountability. Time and again, the entire nation of Israel was held accountable for the actions of a few in its midst. America will also be held accountable if we allow sin to become commonplace and even sanctioned by perverting one of the very first institutions ever established by God: marriage.
We are commanded to treat every person with love and respect. This includes the thief, murderer, liar, or homosexual. In the workplace and in business, we must not discriminate or treat them with any less dignity than our own family. However, we shall not ever let their sin be declared moral.
Do not be a silent Christian. Romans chapter 1 is very clear on the issue of homosexuality. As a Christian, you are obligated to voice your concern to your legislatures regarding the issue of same-sex marriages.
There are already adequate laws in place to protect homosexuals in the workplace and markets. Be clear in your communications that your intentions are to preserve the sanctity of the institution of marriage.
As you voice your opinion, you will be accused of hate, but that’s ok. What people really hate is being held accountable for their sin. And you should never let the world intimidate you into silence.
