Psalm 111: 10 and Psalm 112: 1 (NIV)
The fear of the Lord
is the beginning of wisdom;
All who follow His precepts have good
understanding.
To Him belongs eternal Praise.
Praise The Lord.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who finds great delight in His
commands.
What is wisdom? Is it intellect? Is it philosophical prowess? Is it the accumulation of experiential knowledge?
None of the above – according to the Bible.
Wisdom, true wisdom, is the understanding of who God is. And we learn more about who God is, by understanding His laws and precepts. Those who seek Him and His laws only begin to obtain true wisdom. The world cannot understand this, and God knew this because it is also written:
For the message
of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (I Corinthians
1:18 NIV)
As you live and share the Gospel, the world will not understand it. Some may ridicule you, others may question you. But be sure, all are watching you.
Let me encourage you to learn and live as best you can, according to God’s wisdom. Who will come to understand God’s saving grace through you?
