Psalm 91: 11-12 (NIV)
For He will command
His angels concerning you
To guard you in all your ways
They will lift you up in their hands
So that you will not strike your foot
against a stone.
Many years ago, I was preparing to leave work. Something happened that delayed my departure. I was annoyed at the time. But as I took my usual route home, I passed a horrific car accident that had only occurred moments before. It then occurred to me that had I left work precisely on time, I may well have been involved in this accident.
God loves his children – those who claim him as their God. Have you ever seen the skit where the man walks merrily along while all kinds of accidents and mishaps fall around him, and the fellow is none the wiser? God watches over you and though you may never know it, He protects you from all kinds of harm.
We sometimes think that God is not watching because things do happen to us. But remember, our spiritual lives are just like our physical bodies; they need exercise. Sometimes God wants us to experience an event to make us stronger. But never forget that He has protected you from more harm than you can even imagine. The voice of the Holy Spirit works in and around those who God loves. Call on God as your God.
