Psalm 75: 6-7 (NIV)

No one from the east or the west
            Or from the desert can exalt a man.
But it is God who judges;
            He brings one down, he exalts another.

Have you ever looked at someone else and wondered “What’s he (or she) got that I don’t?”

Why is one person’s ministry seemingly greater than mine?  Why did he (or she) get a promotion over me?

When you have those questions, just remember, that God has a greater plan than we can see.  Our perspective is distorted by our vantage point.  But God sees all and has a purpose for us and for that person.  Think of it this way: when you are wondering the streets of New York , all you can see is perhaps a half mile up and down the street you are on.  But when you look out of the observation deck of the Empire State building, you see the patchwork of streets for miles and miles.  God’s vantage point is above time and space.  He can see things we cannot.

It is God that raises one person up or brings another down.  Those positions are appointed for His purpose.  Therefore, our duty is to glorify God wherever we are, and do our best to seek His will with our current station.
